Think Negatively to Succeed in Business
admin
There’s a lot of talk about thinking positively, but very little said about thinking negatively in business. You should think positively, if you want positive results. It seems to make sense. But thinking positively can lead to big trouble. You want to think positively, but you don’t want to but on blinders to reality. You don’t want to think positively to the extent that you get careless, and ignore what could go wrong. In business Murphy’s Law prevails, “If it can go wrong, it will.” You must think negatively too. As Bill Zanker, CEO and Founder of The Learning Annex says, “There’re lots of crooked people out there, who will lie to you and try to steal from you. Don’t expect your accountant or attorney to be honest. Watch them, double check them, and make sure you have procedures in place to monitor anyone who works for you. Hire good people. People that are trustworthy and competent. But don’t trust them. Always follow-up and check to make sure that any instructions you gave are carried out. Don’t leave it to chance. Lots of times there are miscommunications and glitches. If you catch a mistake early enough you can correct it before it becomes a big problem. A small problem that goes unnoticed could end up ruining you. You have to monitor every part of your business to make sure that it is working. Don’t go into a la la land, and assume everything you want to have done, is actually being done. Check it yourself, to make sure it IS DONE!
