Some nice drinks-recipes!

December 14th, 2007 by admin

Last Sunday I was invited to my friend’s Coctail party and tasted some new coctails that really impressed me and I couldn’t help tasting some exotic ones that really drove me mad :-)

If you buy wine online and other liquors, prepare to order more spirits as some coctails require some really rare ingredients.

Anyway, there are some recipes for you and after tasting these coctails I wait for your comments as well:

  • Salty DogSalty Dog CoctailThe ingredients:

    4 ounces grapefruit juice

2 ounces vodka Cut lemon Salt

    2 or 3 ice cubes

Rub the rim of an Old-fashioned glass or an 8-ounce wineglass with lemon and then spin in salt. Add the ice cubes, vodka and grapefruit juice and stir gently to mix.

  • Rob Roy Rob Roy CoctailThe ingredients:

    3 ounces Scotch whisky

    1 ounce sweet vermouth

    2 dashes Angostura bitters

5 or 6 ice cubes Twist orange or lemon peel

Combine all ingredients except the peel in a mixing glass and stir gently to chill as well as dilute the drink. Strain into a cocktail glass. Twist the peel over the drink to release the oil and then drop it in. For a weaker drink, reduce the Scotch to 1 1/2 ounces and the vermouth to 1/2 ounce. But I strongly recommend you to omit the bitters or replace them with orange bitters.

If you have already drunk these coctails - may be you invite me for a drink? ;-)

P.S. I’ll take a special coctail glass with me! My friend Ilja presented it to me after his trip to Canada.
